REVIEW: The Dictator

I have to say straight up: I worship at the altar of Sacha Baron Cohen. He had me  laughing out loud BEFORE the opening scene. No one does political humor like  Sacha Baron Cohen. He is off the charts. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is safe. He goes where no one else dares. Soooo politically incorrect. Sooo funny. Even when he misses, I appreciate the effort. And Cohen never overstays his welcome. This one clocks in at less than an-hour-25.

In his latest fish-out-of water, Cohen plays a dictator who is ousted while in New York to address the U.N.  Anna Faris plays an over-the-top-activist who has a health food store in the hipster heaven of New York, Williamsburg.  Sir Ben Kinglsey is the dictator’s scheming brother and straight man.  Plus, there are a number of  surprising cameos.

Highly offensive and sometimes gross,  this  ne had me laughing more than any other film this year.  A hat trick for Sacha Baron Cohen. I can’t wait to say "Shalom" to his 4^th.
