(Liz Klimas) Most people can’t stand the thought of spending even two hours on a cramped and uncomfortable airplane, but Bruce Campbell hopes to spend his life in one.
Campbell, of Hillsboro, Ore., is making a retired Boeing 727 his home away from home. The 1969 aircraft was purchased and modified — a continuing process — for $100,000.
“It is comfortable,” Campbell said in tour he gave of the plane to CNN affiliate KOIN-TV. “Aircraft, when converted into a home, provides a whole different experience.”
He has a working bathroom — yes, it looks like an airplane restroom — a rudimentary shower and even uses the wings of the plane as decks.
