This summer is packed with the wants and needs of many movie goers. Sequels return franchise glory, trilogys get closure and pre-quels tell the pre-stories. Filled with 3D and bursting with CGI, movie companies are betting more and more of your entertainment dollars. Spend them wisely and enjoy the popcorn, because the road through summer blockbuster season is explosive and entertaining! ...And as always, please turn off your cell phones.

The Avengers (May 4)
Starring a super cast with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and many more! A true summer blockbuster with action and humor for all.
The Good: Fun movie with bangs, booms and laughs for everyone.
The Bad: To truly get the whole storyline, you need to watch Thor, both Iron man movies & Captain America.

The Dark Knight Rises (July 20)
Christian Bale returns as Batman to face off against another Super villain named Bane (Tom Hardy). Anne Hathaway also dons a catsuit to play the elusive Catwoman.
The Good: Christopher Nolan delivers characters, action and a story that will cement Batman for years to come. Also, Tom Hardy plays a superb villain and is an actor to look for in any movie.
The Bad: Whatever Warner Bros. does next with the Batman franchise. I'm guessing they want an option for a Justice League movie because of the success of The Avengers.

Men in Black III (May 25)
Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones reprise their roles as an alien creature travels back in time to murder an MIB agent and possibly change history forever.
The Good: Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones
The Bad: Many delays in the movie making and script rewrites.

The Bourne Legacy (August 3)
First and foremost, this is not a prequel or a remake. This story takes place with another agent (Jeremy Renner) who has also gone through the "Super agent" process. This story takes place in a Jason Bourne world, but that’s the extent we see so far.
The Good: Tony Gilroy directs and knows how to shoot this kind of action and suspense.
The Bad: Where does a character like this go from here? His names isn't even in the title.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (June 8)
The voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith and David Schwimmer return as your favorite Zoo animals. This time they get carted off to Europe as they try to find their way home to New York Zoo.
The Good: Having seen a piece of this movie I have to say this is supremely funny. Even surpassing some favorite Pixar movies. Watch the chase seen and tell me I'm wrong! Superb 3D too!
The Bad: How does it end, and where do we go from there?

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (June 29)
A new spin on the franchise and director Jon Chu adds new characters and star power. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson enters as Roadblock and Bruce Willis enters as Joe Colton, the original G.I. Joe. Enter big bullets and explosions with some ninjas thrown in for flavor.
The Good: More realistic experience and less of a cartoony attitude.
The Bad: No more Marlan Wayans...He played...never mind.

Ice Age: Continental Drift (July 13)
The pre-historic characters voiced by Ray Romano, Dennis Leary, John Leguizamo and Jennifer Lopez travel on an iceberg to new destinations and adventures.
The Good: Fan favorites return and kids love them!
The Bad: The characters and story can become a bit stale.

The Expendables 2 (August 17)
An action movie with Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger, Statham, Norris, Van Damme, Jet Li, Lundgren and more! The team avenges a murdered friend.
The Good: Chuck Norris returns and so do the Norris-isms!
The Bad: Things blow up...a lot...end storyline. Some people aren't fans of these movies.

The Amazing Spiderman (July 3)
The Peter Parker story reboots as Andrew Garfield takes over for Tobey Maguire. Peter searches for the truth about his parent’s death. This is the earliest we've seen the Spiderman story with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) involved and Ben parker (Martin Sheen) taking a larger role.
The Good: The first Spiderman in crisp and new 3D.
The Bad: How many more times are they going to reboot the web crawler?

Prometheus (June 8)
A huge world for the taking and the crew of the space ship the Prometheus land to reap, unfortunately they may be the ones who pay. Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba.
The Good: The world that Ridley Scott creates is immense and fantastic.
The Bad: Can we handle all the suspense?

Battleship (May 18)
A fleet of ships gets attacked by an alien race. They must fight them off to save the day. Starring Liam Neison, Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna.
The Good: Great graphics and definite fun visually.
The Bad: Transformers on the water? Another 200 million movie that sinks...somewhat literally?

Rock of Ages (June 15)
A group of musical dream seekers set in an adaption of the Rock N' Roll Broadway hit set in 1987. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and more.
The Good: Tom Cruise on stage singing!
The Bad: Tom Cruise on stage singing?

Snow White & the Huntsman (June 1)
An updated version of the fairy tale starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. Sent by the evil queen to kill Snow White, the huntsman decides instead to protect her.
The Good: A good script with a possible cinematic and sweeping feel.
The Bad: It could be Mirror, Mirror without the laughs...which was Mirror, Mirror.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (June 22)
Based on the hit book, Tim Burton takes this story and expands it to the big screen. History is rewritten as our president becomes more than we ever thought and goes to the ends to save his people.
The Good: Looks like a lot of fun and has a great concept.
The Bad: It could end up feeling hokey.

Total Recall (August 3)
A remake that no one asked for may be the fast paced adventure you want. Colin Farrell stars as a man who believes that he is part of a secret conspiracy.
The Good: Action directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) and stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston.
The Bad: It’s a remake of a cult classic; did we want a current...classic?

Brave (June 22)
Another Pixar masterpiece that takes place in Scotland. The magic and world is seen through the eyes of a fiery haired princess that wants to prove her worth in a world that decides her fate.
The Good: Saw 30 minutes of the film, it looks stunning and entertains all.
The Bad: They didn't let me see the rest of the film...
