Jessica Simpson has revealed the first photos of her new baby, daughter Maxwell, on the cover of the latest issue of People magazine.

Simpson, 31, gave birth to Maxwell Drew Johnson on Tuesday, May 1. Maxwell is the first child for Jessica and her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson.

Simpson tells the magazine that "life has completely changed... From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything!"

She adds, "We stare at her all the time... We can't get enough!" 

Simpson and Johnson gave People the first look inside their new family, sitting down for an interview and photos - all in the issue that hits newsstands Friday.

Simpson announced the arrival of her new addition on her website shortly after she gave birth, writing, "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!" 

Simpson listed the stats as 9 lbs., 13 oz. and 21¾ in. Drew is Jessica's mother, Tina's maiden name.
